たくさんあるデータを解析して適切な解釈を与えるプロセスが楽しいです。元々は昆虫学・生化学の 研究室の出身です。大学院時代に大規模シークエンス・インフォマティクスを学びました。2014年以降は自身のグループで研究をする機会を与えていただき、がんに起因する不調に関する研究、概日リズム撹乱、エンハンサー遺伝学、デバイス利用の生体影響に関する研究などにとりくんでいます。
I enjoy analyzing large-scale datasets to understand various biological phenomena. I was previously known as a "silkworm guy" in the field of PIWI-interacting RNAs, moved to the US to pursue cancer epigenetics, and then started to study host pathophysiology in cancers in 2014. I am interested in cancer-induced disruption of host homeostasis, circadian disruption and diseases/aging, and human-robot interaction.

もともと、ヒトがヒトである所以の謎を解くことに魅せられて入ったこの道。
そこで出会った生化学を軸に、分子レベルから個体レベルでの現象へと研究の興味を広げてきました。
生体内の複雑な現象を一つ一つ切り分けて観察できる生化学と大規模な情報データ解析を組み合わせ、緻密で繊細に制御されているヒトの生命現象を、ひとつひとつ丁寧に紐解いていきたいと思います。

My main research interest is the use of data science and mathematics to
solve problems in the biomedical field, especially in the field of
cancer biology. As of now, large amounts of omics data have been
produced and are publicly accessible in online databases. However, it is
not easy to understand and interpret such vast amounts of data.
Understanding and interpretation of big data requires the use
mathematical methods and statistical methods, collectively referred to
as data science. My goal is to analyze omics data in order to uncover
the nature of cancer and other diseases, and aid in the development of
effective therapies for these diseases.
